Category SEO Options

On this part of the screen of the Add New Category page you will notice a few options; these are for SEO purposes. These SEO features are described below.

Name
This input field is pretty self explanatory. Simply type in the title of your new category in this field and the title will be automatically formatted for your new category.

Folder/Sub domain
This input field is pretty self explanatory. Simply type in the title of your new category in this field and the title will be automatically formatted for your new category.

Discussion Forum
In this drop menu there is a list of all the forum categories. Select the one that is related to the new category.

Title
This Meta tag is displayed at the top of a browser and should closely match the category title. It can also be used to add keywords to the page. These titles should generally be less than 70 characters in length.

Description
This Meta tag is used to describe what the content of a category is about. This tag should not contain advertising copy for the page/site but rather should be a short, accurate description of what is on the page. The title should be as close as possible to the beginning of the description and the description should be confined to about 30 words maximum.

Keywords
This Meta tag is ignored by most search engines but should be added regardless. When adding keywords it is important to remember to only use words that actually appear within the category content. When selecting keywords from the content try to choose the keywords that best reflect the category name.

Category External links
This section is used to setup URL for the Chalk stats sub domain and should be left blank unless your category has stats info within that sub domain.

Other links is giving the option to add more URL’s from within the website or outside.

Category Widgets
In this section there is the option to integrate the Stats/Matchups Widgets for each category. Please leave this field blank if the new category that is being setup doesn’t have this widgets.
